Geographically, Sabine Parish is bordered by Natchitoches Parish on the east, DeSoto Parish to the north, Vernon Parish to the south, and Sabine County, Texas to the west.

Sabine Parish has a total area of 1,012 square miles, of which 865 square miles is land and 146 square miles in water (or 14.46 percent).

Sabine Parish is the 15th largest parish in Louisiana (of 64 parishes) in terms of landmass.

Major highways running through Sabine Parish are U.S. Hwy. 171, La. Hwy. 6, and La. Hwy. 191.
